Made in 2025, this freestanding scene tells the story of the Resurrection through a series of carefully shaped hardwood layers. Pale maple forms the distant sky and hillside, walnut gives weight to the base, open tomb, stone, and three crosses, and the vivid red-orange padauk sweeps through the centre as the defining ridge of the composition. The open tomb sits prominently in the foreground while the crosses rise behind it, creating depth and carrying the eye through the scene from promise to fulfilment. Softened contours and a clear finish allow the natural grain and colour of each species to provide the detail rather than relying on paint.
