Built to Strike — Reclaimed Hardwood Mallet
A one-of-a-kind wooden mallet made from reclaimed hardwood pallet stock, combining bold light-and-dark laminations with small decorative inlay details.
Made in 2020 from hardwood reclaimed from a shipping pallet, this mallet turns overlooked material into a tool built to return to the workshop. The laminated head and handle use the pallet's contrasting tones as part of the design, while the dark striking faces give the head a strong visual weight. Small multicoloured inlays at the end of the head add an unexpected decorative detail to an otherwise practical form. Softened corners and a shaped handle make the finished piece comfortable in the hand while preserving the honest character of its reclaimed origins.
